stuck on 112 looking very "murky"

Post by bluewire » Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:30 pm

I am on day 7 with my larger stuck on 1012 when I need to be heading towards 1006.

I have given the larger a stir today to try to bring it to life to get to the level I need but am worried at the look of the larger.

It looks very thick and murky

Any ideas?????

The thick and murky look is simply yeast in suspension and will clear out. 1.012 isn't too bad a FG. The stated FGs in the kits tend to be rather over-optimistic from what I've read. If it stays there for another 2 days I'd bottle/keg it.
Best wishes

1012 isn't too bad, it wont hurt to leave your lager for a few more days, try it again at 10 days.

you could also try adding half a teaspoon of yeast nutrient.
