Bottling - how full?

Post by PeteV8 » Thu Mar 19, 2009 8:08 pm

Hi All,

I`m new to this field, great looking site.

I`ve had a quick search, but cant find anything regarding how full to fill my bottles?

I`m in the middle of bottling up now - should I leave a small gap at the top, or fill right up?

Cheers,

Pete

You should fill your bottles to around the same level as a commercial beer. Whatever you do, don't fill them right up or you will end up with bottle bombs!

Click here & scroll down to the 5th pic to see how far from the top I fill my bottles up.

Edit: There is an excellent bottling thread here.

Thanks very much for the advice - duly followed, and all bottled up.

Just got a bit of a wait now......
