First time brew of Muntons Gold

Hello all...

I'm new to home brewing and after having read tips and advice on here I decided to have a go,Ii went out and bought a kit, Muntons Gold continental Pilsner, I transferred it to a new keg which i bought when I got the kit, I'm a bit impatient, and earlier this evening I decided to have a taste, after charging the keg with CO2 I poured a glass, and to my surprise it poured just like a pint you get from the pub, slightly cloudy though but it tasted suberb.
I did notice, however, it wasn't carbonated, I would be really grateful if anyone could enlighten me as to why its not carbonated.

i bottled one of these bad boys last week and i added a `hop tea` to a dozen [just for fun].
i did a few half pints for samples but have managed to resist temptation so far.

your lack of fizz might be down to a dodgy seal on your barrel. what did you prime with?

Hello. Sounds like you under primed, or didn't prime the keg ? You shouldn't have to Co2 charge the keg at first, as secondary fermentation should give enough for serving, Did you add sugar to the keg before transferring the beer?

I have done several kits now and none have been carbonated. Ale isn't meant to be bubbly!

Hello all...

Many thanks to you kind people who have responded, as i said in my post, I'm new to homw brewing and as they say "you never stop learning", the problem with my brew not carbonating is I think down to me, each day when I come home from work , I check the keg and to make sure that the keg doesn't over pressurise I open the stopper to let the pressure out, now I realise the error of my ways.....Ok, I apologise.... most humbly.....as I said, I'm impatient, and again I tasted my baby, its got to be said, its really good, I promise I wont touch it again until its cleared...I'll let you know if when its cleared if the carbonation factor was ok...
