Bottles stored on their sides

Hello.
I've bottled a Wherry kit, various 500ml, and 2 litre PET bottles. In the warm for a week, been in the garage for 2. I think I've made a mistake, by storing the bottles on their SIDES, because the small amount of sediment has settled on the sides, so when I open one it mixes with the beer, and the beer doesn't taste nice. Is it a simple case of standing the bottles up, then leaving for another week ,then the sediment will "move" to the bottom ? Or do I have to shake them (gently) or anything ?
