Too Weak?!

hey all
been a while.
just done a brew (racked to secondary after 14 days fernentation) its Coopers Mexican Cerveza with 1kg muntons DME (medium) having a sample as i just couldnt wait, and it just tastes of watery lager and a very weak flavour (like p*ss water i would imagen) only thing i can think of is that i used 1 - 2L more water to make it (25L od) dont get me wrong, its alcoholic, just lacking massivly in flavour, anyone else done this? wonder if the flavour will get stronger over time (bloody hope so!)

I'd give it more time, out of the stuff I've brewed so far I've found things do taste a bit watery right at the start but each week that goes by seems to improve the taste and feel.
The Geordie Yorkshire Bitter with LSM and Saaz Hops tasted proper piss-thin at the start but now its actually quite refreshing and the body has improved (still a couple of weeks more will make it better). :)

hi, did this kit back in February with 1kg of beer enhancer and nothing else. i also tasted it straight from the fv before bottling and thought i'd dropped a real clanger because it simply tasted like awful watery lager. once bottled, carbonated and it had been in the fridge for a while it was pretty good, not amazing though. came out about 4%ish if i remember rightly. it was drinkable, got a few bottles knocking about still. very good summery lager. if i had to do anything to it next time i'd shorten the brew length, use a lager yeast and maybe experiment with some hops (i think saaz is good for lagers but i've never used any hops so far!) overall i think it was pretty good as my first(and only) lager attempt so far. so really that was just a long way of saying: it'll be fine just give it time and serve cold!

thanks for the replys guys, this was also my first lager attempt (usually do strong-ish real ale kits with added fermentables) will give it some time, should be a nice light summer drink anyway 8)
