To Bulk or Bottle Prime?

Post by Tramorak » Sat Apr 11, 2009 5:13 pm

I am currently midway through a stalled Muntons Milestone IPA kit. I have repitched today, to hopefully get things moving again, but it will have to be bottled soon regardless of the FG as it has been in the FV for almost 2 weeks.

The kit instructions suggest Bulk priming, but Ihave seen a lot of people priming individually in the bottle. While I am wary of having exploding bottles (Glass 500ml and above/crown capped), it seems like it would be a simpler and better soloution to add sugar to each bottle.

Am I on the right track or would you recommend following the kit instructions? (Seeing as how they have served me so well thus far  )

Cheers.

Dave.

I've always primed the bottles directly, so long as you use an accurate measure you should have no problems.

There does seem to be a preference on here for bulk priming, but I would suggest using whichever method suits you best.
