Best Kit You Have Brewed???

What is the best kit you have brewed?

Did you add any extras - BKE/Spray Malt etc? (quantities?)

Did it ferment well?

Did it come out at the stated ABV% (if not what was the approximate ABV%?)

How long did you leave it before drinking after bottling/kegging?

Marks out of 10 for taste?

Marks out of 10 for appearance?

Total cost?

What is the best kit you have brewed? - Coopers Stout

Did you add any extras - Extra Dark Spray Malt 1kg, primed with H/hold cane sugar

Did it ferment well? - Yes

Did it come out at the stated ABV% (if not what was the approximate ABV%?) - Didn't know of one but it came to around 4.4% ABV

How long did you leave it before drinking after bottling/kegging? - Kegged, left for 8 weeks

Marks out of 10 for taste? - 8/10 for a kit, not a patch on AG though

Marks out of 10 for appearance? - 10/10

Total cost? - £14.98 for ingredients only

Did it come out at the stated ABV% (if not what was the approximate ABV%?) No idea sorry

How long did you leave it before drinking after bottling/kegging? About a fortnight

Marks out of 10 for taste? 10. Best beer I've ever tasted anywhere :)

Marks out of 10 for appearance? 10

Total cost?

Has to be my Brupaks Almondbury Old I purchased for £19.95

My first brew that did not have that sweet tang I seem to get from kits, that cleared to a beautiful dark amber colour and one that I was happy to take to a fellow brewers house to compare beers.

Hops Pellets boiled in Wort for 10 min
No extra's added , used supplied yeast
Came out at just below the specified ABV around 4.4% I seem to remember, but that was good for me
Primed with DME
Left for about 14 days, I was getting desperate, just finished the last pint

8/10 for taste ( I prefer a darker beer but this has beaten all my porter/dark mild kit efforts so far)
10/10 for colour and apperance

Did you add any extras - yeast vit (but that doesn't count)

Did it ferment well? - Not really but partly because it was v cold in the house, so I wrapped it in blankets:

Did it come out at the stated ABV% (if not what was the approximate ABV%?) - Didn't know of one but it came to around 4.4% ABV

How long did you leave it before drinking after bottling/kegging? - It was best after 12 weeks

Marks out of 10 for taste? - 8/10

Marks out of 10 for appearance? - 8/10

This was my 4th kit though and previous 3 were all lagers.

Total cost? - £19-20 kit only
