lager second ferment?

is it worth putting my coopers lager into a second fv with sugar instead of primeing bottles to help reduce the sediment or would i be right in thinking that it needs to go into the bottles to help carbonation :?:

you'll need to bottle it once the sugar has been added to aid carbonation i'm afraid. i think some people have had luck by not priming and allowing natural carbonation ie by the yeast breaking a bit more of the remaining fermentables, this should reduce sediment but probably wont give you the normal carbonation that you'd expect from a lager. i think the only way to get sediment free lager would be to use finings and force carb in a cornie( how id love a cornie!!!)

yeah 1tsp/500mls should be about right for a lager as you want a fair bit of carbonation. do you prime each bottle individually or bulk prime?? i've only primed individually once and it was a brewferm grand cru which i did in 750ml bottles so i primed 12 of them but that was enough of a pain in the arse for me to vow only ever to bulk prime again!!
