This is the first cider i have done, there is no 'head' to the fermentation, could anyone think why? There's plenty of bubbles and its raised to 24 degrees c

Depends how long it's been going, my yeast head seems to come and go, the last one sat there for 3 days before I saw anything, was begining to think I'd killed the yeast? patients perhaps? :)

Its an aquarian thermometer that is on the outside of the fv, I'm not sure how accurate it is though.
I have set my thermostat to 20-22c

i can see your point with the temp, i sleep with the window open so its qutie cold, i think i will have to get a max and minus temp gage in to see what its like throught the night and day. my worry was that it would be fine in the day then cold at night which wouldnt help the yeast, the problem is i have never done cider before so i dont know how the yeast reacts. suppose i should do i bit of research.
