I got my Coopers Australian lager going last Wednesday. It is now Monday and it has stopped doing its stuff. Due to the temperature (between 18-21C) in the kitchen I thought it would take a couple of more days to finish fermenting. With this in mind I was planning to bottle it on Wednesday (day off). I could if pushed bottle tonight or tomorrow night, but my question is will it be ok to leave it in the fermenter and bottle it on Wednesday???
Also if you have done this kit, how long did it take to ferment?
Coopers lager bottling question...
Re: Coopers lager bottling question...
Have you had a few days of consistent hydro readings?
If you are sure it's done it's stuff in the FV, that's only been 5 days, so will be fine in there for a few days more if needed. My bitter will be bottled on day 10.

Re: Coopers lager bottling question...
I haven't taken any readings as if I wasn't going to bottle until Wed I didn't really want to bother opening it as it is sitting in there nice and safe under its blanket of CO2. It really slowed down with the bubbling yesterday and today there are no bubbles in the the airlock at all.pauljmuk wrote:Have you had a few days of consistent hydro readings?

Unless anyone else says otherwise I will leave it until Wednesday and bottle then.
Re: Coopers lager bottling question...
Ive just done coopers oz lager. Its the 3rd one ive done. I read that a standard is 10 days then bottle. Ive done this since the start an its turned out pretty spot on. I did notice that fermentation had stopped before that but i figured id leave it. Going by the 10 day rule not only allows fermenting to end but also gives a bit of time for it to clear before bottling up.
