That site is a bit hardcore, I suppose there wouldn't be all these hydroponic shops if it wasn't for weed growers.
I bought my light from ebay and its only ever been used for Chilli plants:

My experience of last years pants summer put me off bothering with the chillies this year, just two 2 year old plants left in the house which I felt sorry for so kept going. Once I have a garden and a greenhouse I'll be back to growing chillies and other vegetables.

theres nothing like growing your own stuff we grew some carrots last year better than the crap you get in the supermarkets
