Tooheys Dark Ale...

Post by keitha109 » Mon Jun 29, 2009 6:46 pm

Guys,

Ive just bought a Tooheys Classic Dark Ale kit, 500g of Dark spraymalt, 500g of molasses sugar, some safale 04 and Tronozymol

Im tempted to add some Tronozymol to aid with the fermentation but not sure how much to add.
Box only suggests quantities for wine (1-2 tsp per gallon).

Would this quantity be Ok for beer?

Never used personally, but I have used Yeast Nutrient AKA. Marmite for country wine & Mead brews as these are the only type that seem to need the extra help. I have never found a requirement for yeast nutrients in my beer kits or AG brews to be honest. But as its a yeast nutrient I'm sure that there will be no adverse effects in a beer kit and I would just use the same amounts as suggested for wine if you are going to use it at all.
