Transporting beer

My folks are having a party at the end of August and want some beer. They live in Wales and I am in Bath. Would it be ok to transport the beer in a barrel the night before. Would that give it enough time to settle?

I live on a boat and have not had trouble with sediment being mixed up when I move.

brewers who deliver casks will suggest you leave them standing for a good few days somewhere cool. Overnight won't be enough in my view.

I guess it depends on a number of conditions? How far are you travelling. How good is your suspension. What is the road like etc etc. More important I think is what sort of yeast you used ie does it settle and compact well (like S04).
Personally when I go away in my van I take about 3 to 4 dozen bottles with me and it travels very well and I am usually reducing supplies shortly after pitching up
