Which ale kit for a sweeter beer

Post by Gaza32 » Sat Oct 10, 2009 6:18 pm

Hi,

I'm looking to do a nice strong (at least 6% that is sweet and not too hoppy ale, does anyone have any ideas?

Just done a Woodfordes NOG, and Milestone IPA and just getting ready to do a Woodfordes Headcracker I have found the NOG a bit bitter with a very malty nose, the IPA is very smooth but not very strong and not sure what the Headcracker will turn out like.

Any help woould be much appreciated

I never stop bangin on about Wherry, but seeing as you're already doing Woodfordes you can't miss the Wherry bitter, it's great.

Cheers Guys,

I had thought of a Wherry and having tasted the real thing it would impress me if mine came out like it. How could i make itwith a bit more of a kick?

e
I'd leave it as is, as it's a very tasty balanced recipe, but if you wanted to put more kick in it then I'd add more spraymalt to it, but go easy, if you add too much you'll upset the balance.
the other way would be to just make it up to 20 litres instead of 23.
