Fermentation? Yeah. When it comes; 'It Blows'

(Little mental image there, as ye newer to this hallowed place  )

" DSM " ? Dried Spray Malt or Dark Spray / Sprayed Malt? Here's where the confusions can creep in.

What ever. My name's " Ditch ". They tend to refer to it as " Ditch's Stout ". Ditch prefers 1 Kg of Medium DSM.

It'll be good, what ever.

Now, tear ye eyes away from her and start thinking straight!

I've done 3 of these Coopers Stouts, and used a KG of BKE, and it tastes very nice indeed. I've used bottles and barrels, and personally prefer it out of a barrel, seems smoother to me. Use the kit yeast, and basically follow the instructions, nice and simple. Expect it to froth out of the bucket whilst it's fermenting, so make sure you cover the floor or whatever with something to cope with this.

Thanks mickhew, can i not fill the fv to 20 litres then top up to 23 litres when fermentation has settled down... :?:
just a suggestion, do you think it might solve the problem of spilling out.

Yes, lots of people do that, but when you top up, trickle the water in, you don't really want to introduce oxygen after fermentation has started. I've done it, and had no problems.
