How about us guys though? Wouldn't it be cool if we had our own Log Books available? Bought off the shelf. Or printable and able to slip into A5 or A4 Ring Binders. Somewhere to record all those aggravating little details we wish we could remember later.
Printable pages shouldn't be too great a hardship for anyone handy with WordPad, surely? We just need to get down what we'd like to record and which may make useful, comparative records for reading later on.
This is buzzing around in the back of my own fevered little mind just now. Only, I'm too otherwise busy and distracted to just sit and slog through it. However, here's some ideas, off the top of my head and before I flit off onto something else. Please do add ye own suggestions. Anyone may then be free to pick and choose among them, for their own actual draft sheet.
Not necessarily in this strict order then. But, what I can imagine us wanting to know about a past brew might include information such as the following:
- 1. Kit.
2. Date.
3. Kits SBD.
4. Source of kit.
5. Cost of kit
6. Sanitisation Used.
7. Water.
8. Ambient Temperature.
9. Yeast.
10. FV #
11. Temperature Yeast Pitched.
12. Yeast dry or 'Started'.
13. OG.
14. Crust Evident @.
15. Daily Hyro' Readings.
16. FG.
17. Secondary Fermentation.
18. Keg #.
19. Priming.
20. Storage Place / Temp.
21. Sample 1, etc. Verdict.
22. Pints consumed prior to / during initial brew.
23. CO2 Consumption of keg.
24. Longevity of brew.
25. Over all impression / remarks.
See what I mean? That might make a simple enough brew sound like purgatory. But, a few seconds, here and there, could probably amount up to quite a handy little book of reference. Don't ye think? I feel such may also help act as an Aid Memoir. Like, " How much C Tab did I put in that water? ..... Jesus Christ! Have I put any C Tab in there yet ....? That was close!

Just an idea then. Feel free .....
