I've just ordered a Coopers Wheat Beer kit, which I will make up with 500g brewers sugar, and 500g Wheat Spray Malt...
Like a lot of people on here, I'm a big fan of Hoegarrden, and would like my Wheat Beer to very siumlar.
How can I make my Coopers kit more like Hoegarrden (preferably on a tight budget)?
I've got some Corriander seeds, and can quite easliy dry out some orange peel.
Thanks
Easy improvments to a Coopers Wheat Beer kit
Re: Easy improvments to a Coopers Wheat Beer kit
Don't know if that thread mentions fermentation temperature / yeast but I've found those two elements central to producing a good wheat beer. I use a proper wheat beer yeast (Wyeast 3944, Safbrew WB-06 or WLP300 usually) and ferment warm at 26-30c in my boiler room. Though I do occasionally use additives like coriander seed, orange peel etc. I've found the yeast and the warm ferment produce a very true wheat beer (mainly using the Brewferm Tarwebier kit)
