Hello,
We're currently doing our first ever brew, some Geordie Yorkshire Bitter. Our room is pretty cold here so it's taken a while but the thing has (after stopping at about 1.010 and then being woken up with the gentle stirring method) got down to about 1.007-1.008 and seems to have stopped. The kit instructions say to keg at 1.005.
Am I OK to keg it even though it's still a bit higher than it is supposed to be or do we need to try and wake it up again to get it down a bit lower?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Final Gravity number before Kegging
Re: Final Gravity number before Kegging
The kit instructions are just a guide. If you've got down to 1.008 for 24 hrs in a row, then that's fine. 1.005 is an ideal world reading. Just keg it. It'll be fine...
Re: Final Gravity number before Kegging
Thanks for that (and sorry for taking so long to reply).
We kegged it as you suggested and so far all seems well.
Thanks again,
Paul
