Any of these kits good? Im looking a for a nice ale (perhaps something a bit different but not ginger ale) to go with my Fixby gold.

Cheers! :D

Can't really recommend the Heritage Lager, brewed as per instructions with liquid malt extract as recommended and the results were very disappointing. From the comments on here, it seems that the only way to get a decent lager-type beer is to add hops to the kits, so I will try again...

The other Cooper's kits seem to be popular on here though, there's some reviews here...

I noticed after I brewed the Heritage that most of the reviews for this kit mention additional hopping, and that it reaches its best after 3 months... I suspect now that additional hopping is necessary to achieve the results I was looking for, so perhaps I'm being a little harsh on the Heritage - there just doesn't seem to be a lot of flavour. :?

Am from the land of coopers so just a tad biased.....

I would be adding flavour/aroma hops to all the Coopers kits but then i would do that for all the kits as a general rule.

Look on a few of the aussie homebrew forums to get some ideas for these kits and find out how your convict cousins brew

The first Coopers kit I made was a Nut Brown - it was amazing. One of my favourite (kit) beers. Shame they don't seem to have it in stock. I also loved the Coopers stout.

The Ginger Beer was fairly dissapointing until about a year later when I discovered a bottle that I hadn't drunk (1.5 litre grolsch bottle). I was gutted that this was all I had left as the stuff was amazing. All it needed was plenty of time to mature!
