it's a miracle

Hi All

haven't posted on the kit brewing forum for almost a year since moving to all grain but thought I had to post this. The last kit I did was a Cooper stout that went into a budget keg in March last year. I had a couple of pints from it and since then its sat on the side in the garage untouched. In June I noticed the tap had been slowly leaking and the keg was sitting in a puddle of dried stout and mould and the tap was covered in mould, so I gave it a clean up with dettox and left it alone with the intention of throwing it out, but doctors orders prevented me from any heavy lifting so I just left it there. Anyway to cut a long story short I don't have any beer to drink so thought why not try the stout. So cleaned off the new layer of mould and opened the tap fully to clean out any mould in there and then poured myself a pint. First miracle - its still carbonated not bad 9 months and still air tight. Second miracle it tastes fine - no taste of mould at all, despite it being a bit cold (about -2C in the garage at the moment) - need to let it warm up a bit before make a final verdict on it.

So is that the longest anyone has kept a cooper stout kit going before drinking it?

Happy 2010 to all
