hi guys .
ive just been given a norfolk ale 24pt barley wine kit, any ideas what i could do to it to make a 40pt brew, as i dont like barley wine and i dont want such a strong alc content as this is--7% :?:

You could try making it up to 36 or 40 pints and see how it comes out.

would i need to add any more sugar or spray malt as this is a two can kit ?

I would make the kit then check the sg and adjust to 1.040-1.045 with spraymalt or sugar, you will get a brew of about 4.5%. It's worth a go seeing as you where given the kit.

I love Headcracker meself. Its not as heavy and sweet as a typical barley wine, but has loads of flavour - I reckon it'd make a nice session strength brew done to 36 pints if you don't want the full strength version. Shouldn't need to add owt to it.
