Wherrys temperature of beer after bottling

Post by adamjth » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:47 pm

Hi,

So I followed the instructions on the box and bottled up the content of my fermentation bin after 6 days fermenting. Unfortunately I made abit of a mess on the kitchen floor during this bottling and I had to put the bottles in the garage to placate the missus
Anway I am now wondering if the overnight temp in the garage will have turned the beer bad  as I think you as supposed to keep the bottles at room temp for a further 7 days? Is it gonna make me do a tummy shame if I drink it?

cheers

Adam

im currently drinking a wheery.its great!!
why did you leave it in the fv for 6 days? should have been in there for longer. did you take an sg reading?
i know with the wheery it should be in room temp for 3 days at secondary, then in cooler place for 2 weeks or untill it has cleared, so i think your garage should be just fine.

Hi sorry for late reply. I am confused as on the box its says store in fermenting bucket 4-6 days and I took a reading and it was just under 1014. Then I bottled up with half teaspoon of sugar in each bottle and I have since removed the bottles from the garage. they are now in the dining room.

A week in the warm after bottling to carbonate, then shifted somewhere cooler to clear for a few weeks is the consensus.
