Always use Yeast Vit Nutrient?

Post by SiHoltye » Sat Mar 24, 2007 11:38 am

Having had a couple of stuck ferments I was thinking about whether the additional of Yeast Vit Nutrient (a fix sometimes to this problem) could be used as a matter of course by including it from the beginning. Do people think this could have any detrimental effect on the process? I suppose I'm asking is over-nutrients a problem for a healthy yeast? Just checking the Brupaks YV bottle says to add ½ a teaspoon at pitching, so they seem to be saying use it from the outset. However thinking cynically they do sell the stuff. What do others think?

If I add the Young's yeast nutrient, which i think is intended for wine, would that be ok?
