Oh no !
My tap has leaked a bit on my lager fermenting bin. It looks like it's stopped, leaving only a sticky glue around the bottom of the tap where it came out. I tried to tighten it but it just turns round so I guess the nut on the inside isn't locked in place. Any idead on how to fix this? If it's leaked will this let in bacteria?
Help !!!
Leaky Tap
I would carefully tranfer it to another fermenter, if you have one. Keep out the air by using syphon tubing from the tap to the new fermenter.
If you don't have a spare fermenter, use a spare pressure barrel or whatever as a temporary container then fix the tap on the fermenter before returning the wort to it.
Make sure you sterelise everything that the wort touches, of course.
You should be OK infection-wise, as the beer flowing out should have stopped bacteria getting in. If you leave it, though, you might get an infection.
