Hmmm, not sure what's going on, this has gone a bit dead. A small krausen formed for one night and then disappeared again. It's now completely clear on the top.
Any thoughts? This was using the yeast that came with the kit, which I've read isn't the greatest. Should I try pitching some fresh yeast?
Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
Re: Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
I've not done a hydrometer reading yet, will do that shortly.
Re: Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
The same things happen to me with coopers lighter coloured kits.only seem to get a large krausen with the darker kits.It will be fine!
Re: Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
Sounds like you made beer, take a hydro reading to make sure the FG is stable and when it's cleared up a bit more get it bottled or kegged.
Re: Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
There also doesn't seem to be any tub at the bottom, is that normal with these kits too?
Re: Cooper's Mexican Cerveza not going to plan
How long has it been going? As other have said, stick the hydrometer in - I've found the Coopers kits ferment out a lot quicker than other kits, both my Mexican Cerveza and Canadian Blonde were done in under a week.

Went in the FV on Tuesday, started at 1.034 @ 26*C
just check today, 4 days later
1.012 @ 20*C
Looks like it's working fine. Will leave it a few more days at least and see if I get a steady reading.
