Yeast-vit comes in 50g tubs and you only need a half teaspoon a go.

The coopers IPA is indeed a nice kit but i actually prefer the Thomas Coopers Sparkling Ale. Mixed with 1.5kg of liquid malt extract and loads of amarillo hops (15g @ 15mins, 15g @ 5 mins, 15g dry hopped in secondary).

I think all kits need extra hops added for flavour and aroma. They are generally bittered enough for my taste.

I recently started using coopers lager as the base for all my beers, including darker ales and porters. I find that using speciality grains for colour and extra hops for bittering/flavour and aroma produces very nice beers.

eg. my current brew bubbling away is called 'Prince of Darkness Ale'

Coopers lager tin
1kg light dried malt extract
250g choc malt
50g black patent malt
250 light crystal malt
250g medium crystal malt
20g Pride if Ringwood hops @ 30mins
20g Fuggles hops @ 20 mins
20g Fuggles hops at flameout.
Safale S-04 yeast @18C

Very addictive hobby this homebrewing caper....
