Hello Wherryman.
I'd be over the moon if Wilko started stocking:
Cheaper spraymalt, hops, hop bags ,S30 fittings and bottles, champagne yeast...

Called in at my local Wilko's today. They didn't have a huge selection in stock but I picked up the last Wherry kit on the shelf for £14.25 and the last Hoppy Copper kit on the shelf for £7.50, so that'll keep me going for a bit.

They had quite a few of the various Wilko's lager kits. Are they any good? Maybe I'll give them a try - got to be worth a punt at that price.

Also might call back to see if I can get some more Wherry before the sale ends.

I have made some wilko delicate pilsner. It was OK, but you really need a lager yeast to get a nice clean taste. Mine tasted slightly ale..ish
It has, however nearly all gone. I just added a splash of lemonade and some lime, made a nice drink apart from the carbonation level in the bottle.. Basically, I didn't put enough priming sugar in each bottle. I think I'd go for around 4 grams per 500ml next time, which is around a teaspoon per bottle. :D

just an update on the 25% off sale
it ends on 5th June so if you are thinking of getting any more stuff you have until 5th June to get it at the reduced prices ( subject to availability ) .....

Cheers Wherryman,

That's quite some sale, 2 months of 25% off, 5th June means another payday into the bargain too. Looks like a couple more pilsner kits and a red wine to stock up for the summer. The Cabernet Sauvingon is fantastic if you have the patience to leave it, once its hit a month its lost the 'homebrew' characteristics, got a 1 litre bottle that is now 2 months old, don't think it will last much longer.

Has anyone tried brewing the pils kit very short like the Brewferm kits? I generally brew all lagers to around to 19 or 20 litres, but think I might experiment and go to about 12 litres like the Brewferm kit suggests...
Watch this space there's potentially a further bonus coming this weekend, yet to be finalised and in store only. Will keep you posted later this week .....
