What can i do to rescue a leaking keg

Post by stillsmoking » Tue Jul 03, 2007 9:03 pm

 I have just returned from holiday and the S30 valve has been leaking. My muntons bitter would not come out of the top tap keg so i gassed it ,it proceded to pass air through the valve so i put the bulb back on and stopped it leaking.I have ordered another one .Its been in the keg for 3 weeks in total.it tastes reasonable and has held pressure for a day.Can it be rescued or do i sling it and start again.

you could buy a replacement cap or valve and swop them then purge the barrel of air with Co2. or just keep topping it up and replace once youve drunk it all.

Hi stillsmoking
I could come round and give you a hand drinking it, I'm only round the corner in Keighley.

Sounds good advice I will try to drink it this weekend .Got my new valve but its still holding pressure for now ,will gas it up and drink up then put on the new valve.

Going to try coopers IPA for my next brew after reading good accounts in the forums.
