Is my Coopers Stout Stuck?

Post by Chill » Mon Mar 21, 2016 8:25 pm

Hi All

I have had a coopers stout in my fermenter for a couple of weeks and for the last few days its been stuck at around 1.012-1.014 FG. Is this finished? it seems rather high to me compared to previous brews.

I added 1.5kg LME and the end of a bag of DME which could be the difference i suppose? Am i safe to bottle it or am i going to make some bombs if i do?

Cheers

What was the OG?
I did a Wiklo's stout that finished on 1016

id say its finished. the LME and DME will give it a slightly higher reading than if you had just used sugar. id bottle it
lifes what you make it!

The Coopers Stouts that I have brewed have with 1kg of DME and 250g of sugar, have always finished at 1.012, so yours is looking fine to me.

You wouldn't want a stout finishing too low anyway because it should have a decent body/mouthfeel.

You'll be enjoying it in a couple of weeks :D

Thanks for the advice all, looks like i'll go ahead and bottle tonight. No idea what the OG was unfortunately, guess i'll just have to sup it and guess and ABV!
