Got a kit pale ale all ready to go, snipped open the yeast and realised I'd forgotten to take the temp of the wort.
It was too warm to pitch so I left it, unfortunately when I did come to pitch, I shook the yeast packet up and sprayed half of in on the floor, forgetting it was open.
I pitched anyway and certainly have activity, but will it be enough to see it through the whole fermentation ?
Dry yeast FAIL ?

Re: Dry yeast FAIL ?
Always worth having backup yeast sachets in the fridge
I'd get another pack and add that asap personally. Wilko's sell "Girvin" yeast which is supposedly the Nottingham strain and Wilkos should be open today.

Dan!
Re: Dry yeast FAIL ?
I've got a backup packet of Wilkos Gervin, somewhere.....
Just didn't know if to leave it to its own devices ( got a good bulge in the lid) or add anyway ?
EDIT ' It was in the fridge' !
Cheers DAN !

Activity in less than 24hrs (temperature controlled 19C), 23l & 1042OG
Added more yeast as a safety net.
