am thinking of getting a cheap mild kit and adding a few extras instead of the sugar, what do people think of this

Basic Mild kit eg Geodie Mild or the likes
500g Dark DME
250g Chocolate malt
250g sugar

boil DME for about 15 mins then add all ingrediants together

safale 04 yeast

Well, one of my budget kegs is now standing idle. So I'm thinking about also brewing a Mild for the end of September.

What do you guys think of this for a cheapo Geordie Mild kit:

Extract about 250ml of the kit liquid and boil that with approx. 6 litres of water for 40 minutes. Add 20g Northdown when coming to the boil.

Mix 700g Munton's medium DME (as that's all I have) and 300g corn sugar
with water and bring to the boil to sanitise.

Steep 200g of uncrushed chocolate malt for 30 minutes at 70 degrees in 2 litres of water.

Mix it all together for a 40 pint brew and ferment with Safale s04.

Do you think this extra effort will give me better results?
