Autumn season brews for the catwalk...

I have a few new kits lined up for brewing after the heady Indian summer I'm predicting. Thought I'd share my plans in advance, in case anyone has some 'previous' !

Image

- Fixby Gold: straight kit with boil, might double the yeast sachet (as it come with a small Muntons Premium one and I have loads of these to spare). Anyone dry-hopped this as well as used the teabag? Would it be overkill to pop some Goldings in secondary?

- Hoegaarden Clone using West Riding Wheat: Swapping out teabag (or supplementing, not sure?) for Styrrian, Saaz, coriander and bitter orange peel, along similar lines to the Coopers recipe discussed a few weeks ago. May use the Brewferm wheat yeast included, or a sachet of SafBrew S-33?

- Beers of the World United States Steam Ale: I plan to make up 2 x 10 litre cans of this top fermenting San Francisco Steam clone and put it all into swingtops for a lengthy conditioning. Comes with a lager yeast, surprisingly, althought it promised a warm ferment beforehand, so not sure about that and may have to wait until cooler weather or swap out. Sounds like a Cascade opportunity too...

Not sure when these will happen, but they're all lined up looking at me expectantly now

:D

Great sounding line up there fivetide. That Steam Beer does sound an interesting one - certainly unique amongst any of the kits I've seen.
Next Up : Something for the summer
Primary : Nothing
Secondary / Conditioning : Nothing
Drinking : Mosaic IPA

Thanks DaaB, I'll put some on my next list. I have plenty of Muntons sachets as well as trusty S-04 and a single S-33, but no S-05. The steam will be a while off though I'd imagine. *Edit* I remembered I had US-56, but it was an empty pack used on Smugglers :?

My wife is quite keen on the Hoegaarden idea, which could be tricky to get right by amalgamating the West Riding instructions with the Coopers' recipe, retaining some ingredients and adding others, but could turn out nicely if I don't overdo it. I may split between Cornie and bottles half and half for that one.
