Kit 2 Started!

That's number 2 on the go after a delivery man turned up with more goodies, including my second pressure barrel (Beersphere this time!)

Trying a Coopers Australian Pale, but decided to play about a little by adding spray dry malted wheat and spray dried hopped malt extract - God knows how that will turn out, but I had an idea in my head of something I wanted to achieve with it - the plan being to make a really refreshing tipple for late summer! OG was 1044 so should have a reasonable effect :D

The Yorkshire Bitter is coming along - it has pretty much cleared in the keg now, but still pretty yeasty tasting. The fact it was made with brewing sugar is probably responsible for the seeming lack of flavour, but we shall see how it is in a week or so!

Good work, hope they both come out well for you, you do know that tinkering with kits is one of the early warning signs of allgrainitis :D . I'd take care there is a particulary virulent strain of it going about at the moment, JP has come down with a case of it that he might never get over

I think I caught the early warning signs earlier - couple of brewing books came through the door... oh dear

In the new year...

Perhaps...

must...resist...boiler....

Saw a cheap one on Leyland earlier on that nearly got ordered, but I will hold off until I need more supplies! I should be good for a wee while now, unless I order a third pressure barrel as well... or I could try bottling... NOOOOO!

Best of luck Orkney, I find it great fun to experiment with the kits by altering the amount of spraymalt as well as dry hopping.....East Kent Goldings are very good for a fruity after taste !! :D

Mmmm - sounds good!!!!

Just trying to decide on the next order (premature perhaps, but its always nice to plan!) Thinking that I may invest in a third keg whilst I am at it... but that may be getting a little silly....

he he he

Keep looking at them, but its a case of a bit pricy, and difficulty getting gas to my knowledge. I will have a scout about and see if I can find a local source of Soda Stream cartridges though and see!

Those steel 5l mini kegs look interesting though! I could use some of those for summer as they would be ideal for lager and the like - fill it up and pop them in the fridge for a bit before use... or get a Wunderbar! Just the £55 for the starter kit, plus an extra 2 or 3 to ensure enough for a batch is getting a bit expensive again! The Beersphere is only £35 so a lot easier to get past the accountant
