Choppers Worry, worry

opened up the wherry a week before schedule (started this in the tap room but think my query belongs here) after five weeks conditioning. it taste great but is flat as kate moss' chest. i remember when racking i just dumped the brewing sugar (80g) in the barrel and just syphon the wherry on top. i've have been thinking is the flatness due to the sugars not being mixed in? the only comparison i can think of is not stirring sugar in a brew and when you get to the end its all clumped at the bottom. has the same thing happened to my brew?

what barrel are you using?

if the seals arnt sealed then all the co2 goes up the swanny.

a consideration may be to check for leaks.

Did you use the kit yeast ? I've also got a Wherry conditioning in a KKTP for about 4 weeks now and mine is definitely carbonated. I used a Gervin English Ale yeast (aka Nottingham) and the gravity shot down from 1044 to 1014 in about 36 hours !!

yes I used safeale s04 on mine to similar turbo fermentation.

if its in a keg maybe add some new yeaste and wait a while? or force carbonate?

if bottled... I dont know!

been bugging me all day, so looked over the post i have written last couple of month here and sorry daab but i did take a gravity, it was 1012. i remember boasting about that!!

the keg i'm using is a standard youngs keg. its weird coz it taste ok, even mrs chopper said if it had a bit of head she would drink it, but its flat as holland. i think i should have used a syrup when racking. even after a year of brewing you still learn.

heres a pick. its not as cloudy as the pic seems btw

sorted out the wherry, the cap had a dodgy valve on it. i took it off this morning after pouring about two pints because there was a hissing sound. when i took it off the rubber seal was loose, gave it a shake and it came off!! i've gassed it up and there are no other leaks, eg on the tap. think the beer is gone now after all this fiddling. take it as a learn! can you buy replacement caps, say from brewshops?
