Wells - Suitable Bottles?
I love the Wells Bombardier bottles for homebrew and they are easily capped with a Wilko capper. You are right about the labels though but if peeled off very slowly they dont leave much sticky crap behind and it comes off ok with a scouring pad in hot soapy water. I do tend to leave the "full English pint" labels on though.
Best bottles I've come across for getting the labels of are Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted, quick soak in cold water for an hour or so and the labels just slide off with no gunk! Oh and the contents are pretty tasty too
Got to agree about wing cappers not lasting long. I have a Youngs one that has probably only done about 200 caps and its already struggling with the odd cap. Looks like time to get a bench capper - anyone got any recommendations
