you could also try racking into another vessel and leaving for a week or two, this will let more yeast drop out, even with the stickiest yeast, if you've got too much in the bottle it's going to come loose easily and spoil the look of the beer.

I ferment for a week, rack into cornies for two weeks then either start drinking or bottle, i have an acceptbale level of yeast in the bottle after this time.

Thanks Garth, sounds like an idea well worth trying... Would there be enough yeast left in suspension to allow for a nice bit of carbonation when I (finally) bottle? I guess I would have to lower the ammount of priming sugar I use...

yes, they will still carbonate fine, I have never had a bottle that didn't using this technique.

I will still use the same amount priming sugar, I don't know how much you use but it's usually 5ml per litre or 1/2 teaspoon per pint.

Cool, sounds good to me... Certainly worth a try - cheers Garth!

I've got a brew just about ready to bottle, so I'll rack it off and leave it for a couple of weeks, then bottle and prime as usual. TBH I probably prime mine with a bit too much... Approx. 2 tsp per 2 litre bottle... But then I do like my piss to have a certain fizz about it.

Cheers all!

2 tsp per 2 litre bottle is spot on (1 5ml tsp per 1 litre)
