You MUST take 2 hydro readings over 24 hours, and make sure it doesn't change, BEFORE you bottle or keg, as you need to ensure primary fermentation has finished. If you bottle too soon you can make exploding bottles. The budget barrel is "o.k" but stop pouring beer if the flow stops, i.e slows to a trickle, as you run the risk of air rushing up through the tap, to fill the "vacuum" above the beer, and this can oxidise it. Some sort of CO2 injection for your next brew will be highly recommended, as you need to keep pressure/CO2 above the beer, to help serve and protect the beer.
