Thanks for all the responses I will certainly check out the GW Book.
Just to clarify, most the Boots stuff I have are things like glass DJ's, corkers, bottle capers, stirring paddle and the like, so no I'm not brewing in old plastic Boots buckets. I did go out and buy some new equipment including 4 new FV's and even invested in a Corny set-up from Norm. I've done about 8 beer kits so far mainly 2 can kits but my main issues seems to be the length of time they take to clear before I can keg them, any advice?

Re: Questions, Questions...
The GW book Jim recommended really is an excellent read. Also check out the 3rd edition of Graham Wheeler's 'CAMRA's Complete Home Brewing' which should be released in September.
As for clearing, some kits do clear better than others, and some like the Woodefordes can be particularly problematic. I wouldn't worry too much before kegging or bottling, excess cloudiness will only give a bit more sediment which should settle and fix to the bottom of the keg. Trying to clear the beer to reduce sediment in the keg can work against you, as the lower amounts of sediment can be fine and unstable.

Re: Questions, Questions...
Ah, a new edition is due out that would explain why I'm struggling to buy that book. Thanks for the info.
So kegging a fairly cloudy beer shouldn't cause to much issue when drinking time arrives? I just assumed that as the Cornies push the beer out from the bottom it would cause issues.

Re: Questions, Questions...
As you're using cornies you could try adding Gelatine to the FV 2-3 days before transferring. It will help most of the yeast to drop out which as you are probably force carbonating isn't a problem.
