I checked the SG on Thursday (day 10), and it was 1.016 @ 13C, probably nearer a temperature corrected reading of 1.018.

I'll leave it for another 7 days now and give it another check.

I reckon this one is going to be a slow ferment for me. It's sat at a steady 15 degrees out in the garage at the minute. Blub..........Blub............Blub.
I like having it taped up in a box. Means I can't poke around and mess it up. Just poke my ear to the side once a week.

I know what you mean, my brewfridge is in my shed and its easy to just forget about the brew and let it ferment in peace.

I did raise my fridge from 15C to 17C, because the Coopers recipe suggests 15C and my wort was nearer 13C.

Just the checked the SG again tonight on day 15, and its now down to 1.012 @15C (1.013).

I poured the 100ml from the trial jar into a glass, and it was almost clear and tasting very nice 8)

I finally bottled this brew tonight after 24 days in the FV!

The FG hasn't dropped below 1.012 for the past week, so it got bottled @ 3.9% ABV before priming.

I batch primed at a rate of 7g per litre (7g x 21L = 147g) with white sugar.

I hope to end up with a tasty quirst quencher, at around 4.1-4.2% ABV after secondary fermentation is complete 8)

Well, after 20 days in the FV, I decided to take a reading. It's sat at 1010 from an OG of 1050 giving me 5.36% ABV before priming. Whoopee!

I'm confident that this won't drop any lower, and I'm too impatient to wait any longer. It's bottle o'clock!

I have tried this brew twice now, once at 2 weeks in the the bottle and tonight at 4 weeks bottled.

At 2 weeks old it was very slightly bitter and had a mild eggy yeast smell and taste to it, so no surprises.

Tonights 330ml sample bottle was a real improvement, no bitterness, no eggy smell or taste, just a very drinkable gently flavoured crisp lager :)

I'm not too sure where Coopers get their 12 week conditioning time from, but I would be more than happy to start drinking this brew now, it's only the fact that I want to save it for warmer evenings that I am going to leave it longer.

It's also really clear, and hasn't suffered any chillhaze. Tonight's taster was in the fridge for 24 hours, so the lack of clarity is just condensation on the outside of the glass.

Is it clear? I can't tell if its just a misty glass or the beer.

I tried mine after 2 weeks in the bottle, definitely not ready. I'm really looking forward to tasting it again, but I think I'm going to keep the majority of it til June before drinking.

Tried another small sample bottle of this tonight. I'm not sure why I keep tasting things knowing that they're not ready.
Only been in the bottle 4.5 weeks though, so I'd expect it to taste weird.

Me & SWMBO shared another 330ml bottle last night at just over 6 weeks old.

Bearing in mind that she doesn't like many of my 'bitter' brews, she gave it the thumbs up!

Best that I save her some, as she is pregnant at the moment and can't really indulge. This is certainly my best lager brew to date, so smooth and crisp tasting :)

I must admit that this brew tasted pretty good after 4-6 weeks, but has really become a lovely light lager 14 or so weeks in :)

The only drawback is that the supplied Lager yeast has the same setting properties in the bottle as S-23... none! Infact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was S-23.

Anyway, bring on the weekends BBQ's ;)
