:D Sounds good

Im trying to curb the higher temps, at the moment its at 19c.

The aroma of the pellets going in were great. Another 50g left to dry hop. Should be a hop monster :)

I made 1 brew with them and it was awful so I got rid of the remaining 2 tins.

Also, SG 1052 made to 20L. Its gonna be stronger than the usual 4.6% Oakham Citra I'm used to! [-o<

One of my fave beers if youve not tried it is Oakham Citra. Id love to try and make some sort of clone or get somewhere close to the taste.

Ive got 100g pellets on order and Im thinking some kind of blonde kit with extra light dme...what else could you suggest to get near this?

Would 100g be too much to dry hop?

Cheers
:-k Is there really such a thing as "too many dry hops" ? Probably............ but only because they'll steal the beer with absorption :-({|=

Just 50g left to go. Already after 2 days the wafts coming from the brew bucket are lovely.

6 days in, temp been kept between 18-20c. Gravity now approx 1016, when should I get it off the trub and into another FV for the dry hop...? Another few days?

Anytime you like. Brewmaster's choice. Now is fine, a week from now is fine...

Thanks, I wasnt sure if there was a 'recommended' time :)

I'll go for a couple more days then get the remainder 50g Citra in a few FV for 4-5 days dry hopping. Smells great already. Have you tried Zombie Dust by 3 Floyds? I think that uses Citra too..

Excellent plan. Yes, I've had Three Floyds Zombie Dust, and you're right it calls for Citra hops. It's a perfect 100 score on Ratebeer, and has an extremely high reputation, but perhaps it was just too overhyped by the time I tried it. I'll be honest, it was tasty but I was underwhelmed, couldn't detect any real advantages over a dozen more readily available APAs.

I don't say that to insult your taste, but rather to encourage you that you can brew something as good or better with any proven Pale Ale recipe + lots of late Citra hops.

:) Enjoyed Zombie Dust too. Difficult to find however in 'Binnys'. The usual Stone / Lagunitas / Rogue are also very good :) Spoilt for choice in the states!
