Well, here's my update:

Both beers are bluddy brilliant, having a hard time leaving them alone after a week in the barrel. In fact, my father came around Saturday night and he used to AG brew in the 70's and 80's. we only had a half a pint of each, but he was amazed and is thinking of taking it up again 8)
Only ran into one hitch all the way through, one of my KK caps is not holding pressure, so swapped it for the one not in use and manually pressurised the barrel. Gonna' have to buy new seals methinks.
Anyways, thanks again for all the input fellas, Going back to trying not to go anywhere near my cellar...

Maybe check the the nut on the inside of the cap is tightened up. I had a pressure problem with a brand new KK and that was the reason. Couple of spanners and the problem was solved.

I'll try that tomorrow, I have to get it repaired before Thursday when the stout is due for racking. I'm still a few bottles short of being able to bottle a whole batch :-({|=

As it looks like you are a Linux fan, if you ever get into AG brews you might find QBrew useful
