Hi I thought I would put my 2p worth into the mixer. The Newcastle store does have the consumables but not enough to tempt me from my Tesco less than a mile away.

If you were as suggested willing to do online orders only for certain items I think the website would need to improve a lot. I find the search filters to be badly catagorised and it needs to fit the frames. Now it is confusing and can put me off.

Just seen in my local Wilko's and online, that their 2 can kits have been reduced from £22 to £16. Doesn't seem to be an offer either, looks like its permanent . A sensible move I think and represents good value - anyone done any of the two can kits?

Hi Yamr6
I have just had a look at which homebrew display Newbury have. They are on the 2m wide range.
This range does stock Yeast, finnings, single demijohns. Was it a case of they had sold out? If they had sold out then there would have been an empty space on the shelf. If you pop in next time and find the same again, then ask a member of staff to find out when the next delivery is, or better still ask them to special oder it in for you. Hope this helps.

Cheers
Steve

We are having areview of potential new product at the moment. It would hit the stores late summer. I am not sure what will be in there, but we have a pile of potential product waiting for us to pick our way through. Watch this space.....

well i went shopping. thought i`d see what kits i can get from wilkinsons.

the 2 tin kits were £16 so i bought 2 ! i got the real ale, and golden ale after the good reports.
also go a boatload of bottle caps, and couple a packs of yeast.

the kits are so good value i`ll be getting more at some point. even though the wherry is very good value. i opted for the wilkos brand.
i`ll be reporting, oon as i can.

i just have to finish the next special brew.

This is my first post on here, so hello to everyone and the chap from Wilkinson. I found this thread searching for more information about the WiIkinson 2 can 3kg beer kits which are on offer at £16.

The only thing is, the beer kit types in my Wilkos (Arnold, Nottingham) are not the ones talked about on here, although it is the same deal. They have IPA, Yorkshire Bitter, and another Dark Ale type (can't remember the exact name). Are these just renamed, ie IPA = Golden Ale, Yorkshire Bitter = Best Bitter, Dark Ale = Real Ale.

Also, couldn't see any projected ABV on the kits. I presume they would all work out about the same, given they use 3kg of malt. Any ideas? About 4% maybe?

Hope someone can help because I'm off to the shops before the offer runs out. Thanks in advance.

I think the ones you have seen are the Bremaker best of British Kits, which Wilkos are currently selling at £15.

They do a yorkshire bitter, old english ale and an IPA. These are not the Wilkinson branded kits however, whiich come in very plain white packaging. Can't vouch for these kits, but they are 2 can kits and are almost certainly made by Muntons, so I reckon you should be fine. £15 for a 3Kg 2 can kit is not to be sniffed at

Hi Steve,

It would be good if wilkos could stock more varieties of spray malt, all of the stores I have been in only sell light and medium.

Cheers
