I am thinking that either the yeast is knackered or im brewing it in a new fermenter and that has a leak somewhere round the lid.
crack it open and take a look at it you might be
Yeah, sounds like a good plan - it should certainly be going by now. If you can pop up a photo of the beer we might be able to say how it's doing.
Yeah ive taken the lid off alreaady and had a butchers abd there seems to be some activity, but no real yeast head to speak of. I think that ill check the gravity and see if she dropping before any further action

I started a Brewferm Christmas on Saturday and the fermentation did go off like a bomb with enormous yeast head and tons of gas. The room was about 18-20c It's just started to subside. Perhaps your yeasts didn't all get going?

Maybe the yeast head has been and gone, or in some cases the yeast looks like its doing nothing but when you check the hydro  could be a case of that.

Hi guys,

yeah look like it a case of dodgy fermenting vessel, just taken a hydro reading and its dropped like a stone. Its gone well past the 1040 mark, og was 1075 after bulking up with LSM. Only problem now is that because its only a 9l mix the hydro is bottoming out on the base of the fermenter! :?

DB, ala cook do one but what with the price of it and the postage they will rob from you, it'll probably work out quite expensive

I got mine from a set the wife bought, it had a large oven proof tray, a cheap but sharp carving knife and the baster, this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Baster-fat-plasti ... dZViewItem

the baster took residence in the brewing cupboard before 'juices' of any kind passed through it.

I believe there is another use for the humble turkey baster...
