What size lid is that if it costs £15??? I know I paid £8 for a 2" lid and thought that was criminal!!

One of my budget barrels only had the saftey valve and I wanted to fit an s30 so I cut the safety valve off and driiled an appropriate size hole and fiitted the s30 myself.
Cost of the s30 valve was approx £4.50

Just knocked the tap in passing on my fermenter and the threads on the nut slipped.
Beer started pouring from the tap.

had to hose my arm down in iodophor and dip in to tighten the nut...



I think i may have ruined my brew.

I've brewed under the influence and in a stupor I plunged my arm into beer to clear some hops as I couldn't drain my boiler. Didn't do any harm....

You can get away with a lot of things with brewing (in my experience!)

Last night i decided i was an impatient git, and opened up one of the three bottles i filled when i had the leak. (I was panicked! wanted something to show for it at least!)....

it tasted bloody superb!

The FG of the brew was 1004, i think putting it at 4.1%

Yer, i reckon sod the converting of heretics.. i'm just going to make myself some wherry this weekend. I've got the cans for 15 quid at the local Wilko, and the pressure barrel for 14.

I just won't buy Supreme Commander this month.
