Like the new range at wilkos but any chance of a price match on geordie - on sale at morrisons for £7 - at wilko for £11 - would prefer a one stop shop rather than 2.

keep up the good work,

Wow Geordie £7 a kit, think I will be shopping at Morrisons from now on - could've saved myself a fortune!

In the same way that I've never found a Tesco that stocks brewing stuff, I've never found any in Morrisons either. Anyone know any Gloucestershire stores that stock HB stuff?

same here. Phoned my local morisons (well, about 15 mile away), and they said they don't do it. So no luck here. Thankfully have a wilko and tesco that do, albeit in small amounts. Lhbsis easily 35 mins drive away, so no luck there either

Hi Steve,

It's great that you are doing customer research where the customers actually are, that's brilliant. I'm not sure if the Light DME is standard across all 1,2 and 3M shop displays but it should be. It would be really nice to see a Mead kit like the one CWE (rip) used to have in the Boots days. That was just a can but had great results in my experiences. I'm interested to know how your 6.8KG wine kits compare to the California Connoisseur kits. The California Connoisseur kits contain slightly more juice (7.5L) and only £2 more but I have to order them so I might try yours for a comparison. Any chance of knowing what strain your Wilko Gervin Univeral Wine Yeast is? The Harris Crystilbrite filter pads you sell are quite pricey, even with postal cost it's cheaper elsewhere. I suppose the only other great step apart from previously mentioned malts/Grains would be Hops but given the storage conditions I suspect the closest you could get to them would probably be Hop aroma oils, any chance of seeing that on your shelves?

Cheers!

I'm sure this thread was about Wilkinsons and not some other shop

Dunno whether you're referring to my post, but what I was trying to get across, was that it would be nice for Wilko's to stock an even bigger selection. Even if it was just in the warehouse/online for delivery/delivery to store. If I could order some milestone kits, then would be really good. And if price isn't too bad, am sure others might too...

I only popped into Wilkinson to get an emergency Hydrometer (I know I should have more than one in kit!) and came away with lots of goodies (Thank you!!!!).
(Local store used was Bexleyheath, is that one of the bigger range stores?)
Everything has worked very well so far and i am just about to pour this weekend an AG I made with the Gervin Ale Yeast that has worked very well so far.
I fully understand that your range will we more aimed and the kit brewers but it would be great to see a few more general AG consumables and maybe a bit of kit.

I liked the look of some of the wine kits and might well give that a go later in the year.
Hi rval
Thanks for the feedback. Let us know the how it turns out. The Bexleyheath store stores our full 3m range, which is the biggest in-store range we do. More is available online.

Cheers
Steve

Steve thank you. The beer turned out very nice indeed and at the price I will be returning for many more. At 23 days old it had the perfect natural carbon dioxed levels for the perfect fizz.
At the party I talked with another home brewer (kit and extract) and he said he was racing down to the local branch to have a look.

Steve,
Any plans for a Christmas promotion on starter kits or better still Beer kits (something for myself)? Looking to get my lad started now his got his own place and looking for the best deal. Morrisons don't do starter kits unfortunately.

Hi Flatulentcow.
I have forwarded your questions on to our supply for a more technical response.
We did have a meeting about all the potential products we could sell that have been listed above on this thread. So watch this space. We don't have room to fit them in the store space we have in the short term, but we are going to try and get some online.
Cheers
Steve

Steve, do you have a definitive list of which Wilko branches stock homebrew stuff and which "display size" each branch has?
I realise this will change over time but perhaps you could have a list on your website?

My only suggestion for additions to the range would be a good sanitiser. StarSan is something that is very popular but fairly hard to get hold of in the UK. There are only a couple of outlets for it afaik. Example: http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/aca ... _227g.html

Hmm, I have been out the loop for a while (the joys of baby ownership  ) but will immediately don my coat and nip round to my Wilcos to check it out.

Now all I have to do is remember how to make a kit up..... :D
FV1 - Cooper's English Bitter
FV2 - Patiently waiting... (Stout à la Ditch planned!)
Keg 1 - Patiently waiting...

Great Steve, thanks for your advanced nudge =D> , if you can get near to Morrisons £6.99 Geordie kits I am sure you will sell loads of your own label over the christmas period (Will look to try one myself the weekend). Please remember it takes best part of a month to get these kits conditioned so late November would be a good date to start your promo.
