Yes, I've brought two from these people. Very helpful if you ring them. I wanted a spare cap with a cut out and as they were selling me a cap and valve they sent me one at no extra charge. Highly recommended.

Paul; I've only ever used a kilogram of malt in mine. But, Coopers sent me a kit of their Irish Stout and included a box of their own Enhancer with it, so they obviously feel that stuff's got something to do with the way to go.

Must admit; Having never before used any sort of enhancer before, indeed, never having made this Irish kit, I didn't want to confuse the issue by making it radically different from how I usually do my Stouts. I wanted the clearer comparison, see?

As it happens, the Irish Stout is on tonights menu. I'll be tasting it for the first time and shall have to see how it compares

What you should be doing in the meantime? Anybodys guess, really. Just because I make mine in a certain way doesn't mean a lot, in the greater scheme of things. Some people choose to make it with Dark malt. I have some of that here myself and shall give it a try one day too. Nothing's written in stone and I'm yet to hear of anyone wrecking a Coopers Stout, no matter what they do :)

Hi Ditch - thanks for the reply.

I'd be interested to hear what you think of it compared to your normal brew.

That's the best news I've heard so far this year. I'm still waiting to mess up on a brew and end up with something undrinkable. Yes, I know it's going to happen sometime - but I'm glad to hear that Cooper's Stout isn't too difficult.
