BRUPAKS KITS.........ANY GOOD?

Post by andyjc » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:18 pm

I am considering making the "STEP UP" to using a BRUPAKS Kit.
I am a bitter/real ale drinker and was considering the 'Colne Valley Bitter' kit as a good starter. Does anyone recommend this or is there a better one to go for, maybe the 'Kirkburton Ale' kit? Advise ASAP please.......! :?

Better than a Muntons kit, of which I have brewed 4 now and have had no probs at all.....?

Hmmm...

Well better IMO as all the Muntons/Woodefords kit's I made suffered stuck fermentations (as have my work mates, who only knew after I checked their brews with a hydrometer....all 1020  ), not had the problem with a Brupak kit. I'm sure you won't be disapointed if you tried one.

Best kit I have made so far.

Will not be even considering a Muntons or Woodfordes kit again for a loooong time.

I've just downed a glass of "Colne Valley Bitter" myself and am ready for a refill.Nice creamy head, well worth the effort.
I'm sure you wont be disappointed.
Enjoy!

I can vouch for the Fixby Gold, Almondbury Old and IPA - top beers the IPA was the first one I brewed so I probably have a soft spot for it

Worth the extra cash? - Absolutely 8)

I've got the Scammonden Dark conditioning at the moment and less than a week in it taste great already.

My Fixby Gold has stuck on 1020 :(

There was lots of activity from this for the first 3 days as well. I've roused the sediment but still no activity after 48 hours. This has also happened recently with a Wherry.

I seem to have a problem with all malt kits as the other kit & TC brews I've made have no trouble getting to the required SG.

I've just re-pitched the Fixby using some Safale04 so I'll wait and hope & if it's not done after another week I'll bottle it anyway - as it tasted good from the slurping lick I took from the hydrometer :D
