Collect them from the bins outside shops etc,
If a bottle from a bin appears to be half full of lucozade, it probably isn't lucozade.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

You never cease to amaze me - I have just made the leap from all 1ltr PET for a brew to half 1ltr PET half recapped brown glass 500ml.

Now I find I can use her old fizzy-pop bottles too? What an eclectic collection of full bottles I could be storing in my beer shed!

The old 2 litre pop bottles are great - I rarely use anything else. Just decant first into one of the 2 litre plastic juice pitchers you find in the supermarkets, leaving the sediment behind.

You can get ones with a valve closure on a sealing lid, and a pouring nozzle which helps with head forming. 8)
