Oxidized

Post by matti » Mon Jun 19, 2006 1:43 pm

Hi all, just racked my brupaks Fixby Gold into the keg. When i was syphoning it the tube wasn't right at the bottom of the fermenting bucket and lots of little air bubbles went through the tube for a second until i pushed it back to the bottom again.
Is this enough Oxidization to affect the beer or will it be ok.

Thanks

matti

Definitely oxidised, where do you live ? I'll pop by and remove it for safe disposal.

I had the same thing happen when I got to the end of the fermenter, basically a lot of tiny bubbles gurgling through the pipe.. No problems with the beer whatsoever. Same thing when bottling (though I think a bottle stick will be my next purchase) no problems with them either. Even my fumbled attempts at siphoning turbo cider didn't oxidise the brew!
One thing I've learnt from the people on these forums is not to fret too much about your brews :)
