Hi All,

Just to say thanks to everyone that has posted helpful comments and posts in the forums. I am completely new to brewing although am already enjoying the experience and started my first kit brew last night.

Well starting off simply with a kit very unlike me it has to be said but I am already getting lined up for a full mash brew. All part of a master plan to have a dinner party with completely home-made food and drink (well as far as possible no room for growing hops, malt and breeding livestock where I live).

Welcome on board!

Am too classed as a newbie and hope to hold that distinction for some time - picking brains left, right and centre.

Am saving for the all-grain kit as that's my aim too. Will be a while though, no.1 son and bundle (no.1 daughter; due May) cleaning my wallet out on a daily basis...

Welcome aboard 8)

Loving the idea of entirely home-made food and drink. Where's a good place to find out how you go about making your own cheese?

drinking: ~ | conditioning: ~ | primary: ~ | Looks like I need to get brewing then...

Cheese making

Post by NomadicShock » Sun Mar 02, 2008 11:03 pm

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome :-) as for the cheese making I have had a couple people ask about this and I haven't really found any good information on the web for this yet. I was brought a starter kit most of which seem to come with instructions.

However when I make the next batch (got a feeling this won't be until late April) I will post the process I am using to make camembert. If you are interested in doing cheese however http://www.cheesemaking.co.uk/ have kits for soft cheese at £35 I believe (these seem very similar to the one I have.

JohnJeye, not sure whether I will be able to fit any more in for the next dinner party (however if all goes well I might go into competition with Heston Blumenthal hehe) but I again would be happy to detail how everything was made.

Try living in a one bedroom flat  Good luck with your brewing experience.
